Brand Consistency

You’ve heard people talk and talk about how important branding, brand consistency, and your image is. Well…it’s true. Each part of your brand, whether it’s your logo, photo style, or simply a colour, triggers a reminder to your website visitors and social media followers.

When choosing your social media handles, it’s becoming more difficult to get the same name across all channels. For example, with my personal blog I was able to get GirlontheGoCA for InstagramPinterest, and Twitter, but not Facebook —I had to go with GirlontheGoTravel

3 Tips for Brand Consistency

  1. Choose a handle name that is relevant to your business, product or service.
  2. Use a website such as NameChk to see if your choice(s) are available on all channels you want and register accounts on all of them right away!
  3. Draft bios/descriptions and use it on all of your channels.

Once you have your social media identity established, start thinking about the image you want to portray and the messages you want to create for your visitors.
