I’m guilty of this. My own promotional work is last on the lists…client work is first. After a busy day the last thing I feel like doing is thinking about more work and writing fresh content. I found that taking time to do something fun with friends and family, I end up being more creative.
You website is the window to your business. Customers will return for the products and services that they know you have, but also you need to provide them with something new each week so they return.
Many people research products and services online first before buying. If the content is old and the date your website was last updated was back in the last century, those visitors are likely to move on….that is…if they found your website in the first place!
Fresh content means your website is continually being indexed by search engines like Google and Bing and shows that your site is live and active. If your site is stagnant, the search engines will assume your site is not being used. The more frequently your website is indexed means the more chances you have at reaching prospective clients.
Once you have fresh content on your website, you will be able to promote it through your social media channels and drive traffic back to your website.
