Did you know this is in western Canada?? It was a gorgeous day at the Abbotsford Tulip Festival🌷at @lakelandflowers … 27 acres of flowers in bloom … around 70 varieties of tulips … over 5 million tulips in bloom (no, I didn’t count them)!! So much colour and happiness all in one place! My favourites this year are the Double Fringed varieties with the naturally fringed edges! 😍💕 I am looking forward to Lakeland Flowers’ other flower festivals coming up … peonies, lavender, and sunflowers!

Happy Mothers Day to the moms and dog moms and those with mom-type role! 😜 🌷

I am excited that the Glacier View Lodge is now op

I am excited that the Glacier View Lodge is now open for the season! On my last visit, the views from my room were breathtaking, with the stunning Columbia Icefield stretching out before me. One night I woke up to the moon shining so brightly over the glacier (scroll back a ways to find that photo)… it was magical!

The Columbia Icefield experience allowed me to step onto the ancient ice and explore this incredible natural wonder up close. Walking on the glacier and feeling the icy breeze was exhilarating and humbling all at once. And the Skywalk, with its glass-floored observation deck that extended 918 feet over the Sunwapta Valley, offered stunning panoramic views of the mountains and river below.

The Glacier View Lodge at the Columbia Icefield was a must-stop on my road trip! Book your stay quickly before it sells out. The link is in my bio with more details on these adventures!

Let's talk about Italy...and I can tell you some secrets about Pisa!
If you're a history buff or just love uncovering hidden secrets, Pisa is definitely a destination worth exploring. From the Devil's Claw marks to the secret entrance to the tower walls, there is no shortage of mysteries waiting to be uncovered in this beautiful city.

I paid 5 Euros to climb the "secret" staircase and walk the medieval tower walls for a beautiful bird's eye view of the Tower, Baptistery, and Cathedral. You can walk for 3kms, and there are 4 entry/exit points throughout.

The other "secret" is the Devil's Claw Marks. These are on the Pisa Cathedral (see the group gathered on the left side) and are not only mysterious, but they also have a fascinating history. According to legend, the devil was unhappy about the construction of the Duomo and wanted to stop the project. He tried to climb the Cathedral walls to sabotage the construction but slipped and left his claw marks on the wall. While no historical evidence supports this legend, the claw marks have been fascinating and mysterious for centuries.

One of the most intriguing aspects of the Devil's Claw Marks is their number. While it's easy to spot the two most visible marks, much debate exists about how many marks there actually are. Some claim to see up to 150 marks, while others fine more or less. This has led to a mystery that has yet to be solved. It's unclear whether the number of marks has changed over time or if they were all made simultaneously. Some believe the number of marks relates to the devil's presence in the area, while others think it's simply a matter of perspective. How many do you see?
